Mattering to College dan College Adjustment pada Mahasiswa di Indonesia

Penyesuaian perguruan tinggi merupakan fenomena cukup umum terjadi di kalangan mahasiswa Indonesia. Partisipasi aktif dalam kegiatan komunitas perguruan tinggi dan membina hubungan baik dapat membantu mahasiswa dalam menyesuaikan diri. Persepsi bermakna bagi komunitas perguruan tinggi yaitu mattering to college dapat membantu mahasiswa membangun lingkungan komunitas perguruan tinggi yang baik serta membantu penyesuaian diri mahasiswa di perguruan tinggi. Fenomena penyesuaian diri pada mahasiswa cukup beberapa kali ditemukan. Mahasiswa-mahasiswa di berbagai perguruan tinggi di Indonesia ditemukan mengalami kesulitan penyesuaian diri karena transisi sekolah menuju perguruan tinggi dan kesulitan menyesuaikan diri dalam berbagai aspek. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat hubungan antara mattering to college dengan college adjustment pada mahasiswa aktif strata-1 tahun pertama dan tahun kedua di Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain cross-sectional dan menggunakan metode penelitian korelasional kepada 220 mahasiswa tahun pertama dan tahun kedua di Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan signifikan antara mattering to college dengan college adjustment pada mahasiswa (r = 507, p = <.0.01).
Abstract
College adjustment is a common phenomenon among students in Indonesia. Active participation in university community activities and building good relationships can assist students in adjusting. The perception of being meaningful to the college community, namely mattering to college, can help students build a good college community environment and help students' college adjustment. The phenomenon of college adjustment in college students has been discovered quite a few times. Students at various universities in Indonesia were found to experience difficulties in adjusting due to the transition from school to college and difficulties in adjusting in various aspects. This research aims to evaluate the relationship between mattering to college and college adjustment in active first-year and second-year bachelor's degree students in Indonesia. A quantitative study with a cross-sectional design was conducted on 220 first-year and second-year students in Indonesia using correlational research methods. The results indicate that there is a significant relationship between mattering to college and college adjustment in students (r = 507, p = <.0.01).
