Abstract


Nowadays, many people think not only English, but also Chinese Language is very important to master. Therefore, the number of Chinese Language learners in the world is increasingly growing day by day. There are four basic skills to master while learning Chinese Language. Beside listening, reading and writing, speaking is also a very important skill to train at the time of learning Chinese. As beginners to Chinese Language, the first year students in Bunda Mulia University mostly has the difficulty to express what they want to say in Chinese. There are many ways to train student’s spoken Chinese ability, one of them is story-retelling. In this article, writer compared “du hou shuo” and “ting hou shuo” method to know which one works better on training students’ fluency and accuracy in expressing Chinese Language.
