Translation is one kind of ability that need to be master by foreign language learners in order to become a good translator. However, translation is not an easy task. Beside needs to have a certain foreign language ability, translators also need to understand the culture between the two countries. The Chinese-Indonesian translation is no exception. It is necessary for translators to understand Chinese and Indonesian cultures before they can translate the meaning that the other party wants to express. For translators, the most difficult to translate is idioms, because Chinese people like to use idioms to express their thoughts in their daily life, but the use of idioms in Indonesian is not very frequent, so idioms become a difficult point for translators. In order to understand the translation of Chinese idioms more deeply and obtain more reliable information, we carefully analyzes, compare and categorize the Chinese idiom translation on the "The Condor Heroes" TV series (1-26 episodes, broadcast on INDOSIAR TV). According to the analysis of 198 Chinese idioms translation, we found 70.71% correct translation and 29.29% error translation, among them 25 translations (12.63%) are consistent with the Chinese idiom meaning, 115 translations (58.08%) are translate based on context, 32 translations (16.16%) are errors translation, and 26 idioms (13.13%) that were not translated.
