PENGARUH VIBE CODING BERBASIS KECERDASAN BUATAN TERHADAP KOMPETENSI PEMROGRAMAN MAHASISWA DI ERA DIGITAL
Abstract
The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has given rise to a new approach in software development known as Vibe Coding. This approach enables programmers to generate source code through natural language instructions with the assistance of generative AI models. This study aims to analyze the influence of AI-based Vibe Coding on students' programming competencies in the digital era. The research employed a quantitative approach using a survey design involving 30 Informatics students who had experience using AI coding assistant platforms. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression. The findings indicate that the use of Vibe Coding has a positive and significant effect on improving students' programming competencies. Vibe Coding assists students in understanding programming syntax, accelerating the debugging process, enhancing software development productivity, and encouraging the exploration of emerging technologies. However, excessive reliance on Vibe Coding may potentially reduce students' algorithmic thinking and independent problem-solving abilities. Therefore, it is essential to implement learning strategies that balance the utilization of AI tools with a strong understanding of fundamental programming concepts.
