Jurnal Titik Imaji

Ketahanan pangan merupakan salah satu isu yang masuk dalam perhatian Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (TPB/SDG) Pembangunan Bangsa-Bangsa. Film dokumenter dapat menjadi medium yang kuat untuk menyuarakan isu-isu keberlanjutan. Penelitian ini menganalisis bagaimana film dokumenter pendek Planting Seeds for the Future dari serial web Beyond Barriers merefleksikan isu ketahanan pangan melalui penerapan instrumen analisis Berlian Budaya dari Griswold. Penelitian ini juga mengobservasi implementasi mode ekspositoris berdasarkan teori mode dokumenter Nichols serta menganalisis bentuk dan gaya film berdasarkan teori Bordwell, Thompson & Smith, dengan fokus utama pada aspek penyuntingan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa melalui tokoh utamanya, film Planting Seeds for the Future merefleksikan isu ketahanan pangan dengan memetakan dua permasalahan utama: berlimpahnya jumlah limbah makanan dan timpangnya akses masyarakat terhadap pangan, yang masuk dalam perhatian SDG 2: Tanpa Kelaparan dan SDG 11: Kota dan Pemukiman yang Berkelanjutan. Film ini juga mengangkat FoodCycle Indonesia, sebuah organisasi yang didukung DBS Foundation, dan bagaimana organisasi ini memberikan solusi terhadap kedua isu tersebut. Dengan durasi yang hanya tiga menit, film ini telah berhasil menyampaikan isu ketahanan pangan, memperkenalkan tokoh dan organisasi yang disorot, serta menjaga perhatian penonton melalui gaya penyuntingan yang penuh aksen, action cut, infografis, dan tone warna untuk membuat film ini menarik secara visual.
