ANALISIS KESALAHAN ADVERBIAL TUNGGAL DALAM PENERJEMAHAN INDONESIA-TIONGHOA (印汉状语翻译偏误分析)

Abstract


Finite adverbials in Chinese are composed of adverbials of time, adverbials of place, adverbials of objects, adverbials of scope, adverbials of objectives, adverbials of degree, adverbials of manners, and negative adverbials. This research will focus on analyze the error in translating adverbials from Indonesian to Chinese. This research collected as many as 971 essays from seventh-semester university students, as many as approximately 109.515 letters. From those essays a statistical analysis was made resulting in translation errors on adverbials as many as 487 sentences (75.15% of the total errors adverbial). In general, types errors in translating adverbials are consisting of 5 types of errors, which are inadequacy in translation, excess in translation, positioning errors in translation, adverbial usage errors in translation, and another type of common error, that is not understanding precisely the meaning of original sentence, this often happens in translation process. The causes of the errors are first, because of the mother tongue of the translator. Second, it is because of the differences in translated language, which is Mandarin. Third, it is because of the culture. Fourth, the errors are caused by lack of motivation in learning.
