BRIEF ANALYSIS OF CALLIGRAPHY TRAINING INSTITUTIONS IN JAKARTA

Abstract


In recent years, Chinese calligraphy has flourished in Indonesia. In Jakarta, many calligraphy organizations have opened calligraphy classes to inherit the art and culture of calligraphy. This paper makes an in-depth study of the current situation and teaching situation of calligraphy training institutions in Jakarta. Through interviews with the leaders and teachers of the four calligraphy institutions, we found that there are still relatively few calligraphy teachers and students, especially the teachers and students of the younger generation; most of the teachers in the calligraphy institutions teach five kinds of fonts, using Yan Zhenqing, Ouyang Xun, Tian Yingzhang and Shi Chenbei's calligraphy books as teaching materials; the frequency of calligraphy class of the four calligraphy institutions is once a week, and each class is two hours; most of the calligraphy institutions hold calligraphy activities, such as calligraphy exhibitions, calligraphy exchanges, calligraphy workshops, and calligraphy competitions.
