ANALYSIS OF THE CORRELATION BETWEEN WILLINGNESS TO COMMUNICATE IN CHINESE LANGUAGE AND LEARNING MOTIVATION

Abstract


No matter in class or out of class, cultivating learners' willingness to communicate in Chinese plays a great role. The level of learners' willingness to communicate in Chinese is more or less affected by learning motivation. The research belongs to quantitative research, we conducted surveys by using questionnaires. The research shows the learning motivation of the students in grades one to four belongs to the middle level, the type of learning motivation is mainly instrumental motivation; the willingness to communicate in Chinese in and out of class of the learners is at the middle level, and the willingness to communicate in class is higher than that outside class; the willingness of learners to communicate in and out of class in Chinese is significantly positively correlated with their learning motivation, but the correlation is not high; the motivation type with the highest correlation and significant correlation with the willingness to communicate in Chinese in and out of class is mastery goal orientation, while the lowest correlation and no significant correlation with the willingness to communicate in Chinese in and out of class is extrinsic motivation.
