The name is just a label among people’s identities, which is an irrefutable truth in the era of globalization. The specific word used as a name is no longer exclusive and unique, which is also quite intriguing. Many Overseas Chinese in northern Jakarta use names with Chinese surnames as their names, and also many Overseas Chinese in northern Jakarta do not use names with Chinese surnames as their names. Have they forgotten the Chinese culture or been mixed with Chinese and foreign cultures and refused to accept and eliminate Chinese culture. The purpose of this paper is to find out the will and opinions of Overseas Chinese of different ages in northern Jakarta to use names with Chinese surnames. To obtain reliable results, the author conducted an investigation. A total of 150 Overseas Chinese in northern Jakarta were surveyed and investigated. The research show that most of the Chinese in North Jakarta are willing and very willing to use names with Chinese surname pronunciation, but there are still some young people who think it is not so important. In addition, most Chinese in northern Jakarta are willing to use "half Indonesian, half Chinese" names because they believe that Chinese surnames are Chinese identities and must be preserved; secondly, they also want to integrate into the local culture.
