ANALYSIS OF THE CORRELATION BETWEEN CHINESE LANGUAGE LEARNING STRATEGY AND INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES IN CHINESE LANGUAGE DEPARTMENT STUDENTS OF BUNDA MULIA UNIVERSITY

Abstract


Learning strategies are behaviors, steps or techniques used by students in developing second language or foreign language skills to encourage learning progress. The use of Chinese language learning strategies is also limited by several factors such as gender, duration of learning Chinese, level of Chinese language proficiency, learning style, intensity of motivation, learning objectives and other individual factors. Therefore, research on the correlation between Chinese language learning strategies and individual factors of students in the Chinese Department of Bunda Mulia University as the research topic to conducting an in-depth study on it. The research show that most of the students in the Chinese Department of Bunda Mulia University use affective strategies and compensation strategies to learn Chinese. In addition, Chinese learning strategies are correlated with learning purpose and motivation, but not with learning style, learning purpose, gender and achievement
