Abstract

Chinese learners must master the four basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in the process of learning Chinese. Writing is one of the four basic skills in Chinese, and its status and role cannot be ignored. In the writing class, teacher’s comment on student writing is an important part. In this paper, the questionnaire survey, observation method and interview method are used to study the writing teachers (5 teachers) and students (45 students in the second grade and 28 students in the third grade) of the Chinese Language Department of the Bunda Mulia University. The purpose is to investigate the method used by teachers to give comment on students’ writing. This article uses Excel and SPSS software for analysis. The survey results show that the comment method used by teachers is mostly relevant with the student's interest. In addition, the teacher's comment method also affects the students' interest in the writing class.
