雅加达西部及北部私立小学汉语词汇教学方法调查研究 (CHINESE LANGUAGE VOCABULARY TEACHING OF WEST AND NORTH JAKARTA PRIVATE PRIMARY SCHOOL)

Abstract


Vocabulary is the language learning foundation. Without vocabulary, language learning have no foundation, language learner also cannot make the correct language expression. The teaching of pronunciation, Chinese characters and grammar is always combined with vocabulary. The mastery of vocabulary is the foundation of the cultivation of language ability. This study mainly investigates Chinese vocabulary teaching methods in private primary schools in west and north Jakarta. The purpose is to know about the current situation and problems of Chinese vocabulary teaching methods in primary schools. Through the classroom observation of 20 elementary schools, we have the result that the most commonly used vocabulary teaching methods for teachers are translation method, question and answer method, and scene example method; the commonly used vocabulary teaching methods are picture display method and action display method; the less-used vocabulary teaching methods are comparative contact method, extension method, definition interpretation method, physical display method, context used method, explain new knowledge with old knowledge method, inductive word meaning method and painting method; and no vocabulary teaching method used by teachers is student explanation and Chinese-other language comparison method. In addition, the problems in Chinese vocabulary teaching in primary schools are that the teacher just use one teaching methods, the teaching methods are not appropriate, the teachers' Chinese level is not very satisfactory, the teaching words are too difficult, the explanations are not clear enough, and the teachers lack of classroom management skills.
