ANALISA DAN DESAIN REKAYASA ULANG JARINGAN KAMPUS UNIVERSITAS BUNDA MULIA DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN IPv6

Abstract


Sejak pelepasan IPv4 pada awal tahun 90-an, pengalamatan 32 bit IP lama kelamaan akan habis. Dalam kurung waktu yang tidak lama untuk menambah pengalamatan IP telah datang yang disebut dengan IPv6 atau IP Next Generation.

IPv6 adalah versi baru protokol Internet yang dikembangkan untuk menggantikan IPv4. Alasan utama dikembangkannya IPv6 adalah untuk meningkatkan ruang alamat Internet sehingga mampu mengakomodasi perkembangan jumlah pengguna Internet yang sangat cepat. Penyebaran IPv6 membutuhkan banyak waktu dan usaha, sehingga terdapat suatu masa transisi di mana IPv6 dan IPv4 berjalan bersamaan. Pada masa ini dibutuhkan teknik-teknik yang dapat diimplementasikan oleh IPv6 untuk dapat kompatibel dengan IPv4, teknik-teknik ini disebut mekanisme transisi.

Interkoneksi dari IPv4 ke IPv6 memperoleh kinerja throuhgput yang hampir sepadan dengan antara dua jenis protokol ini. Hasil pengujian RTT pung juga demikian, hasil yang tidak terlalu jauh perbedaanya antara kedua protokol ini. Sedangankan pada pengujian waktu resolusi nama IPv6 sedikit lebih unggul walaupun tidak terlalu signifikan. Di lain pihak, untuk pengujian layanan aplikasi dapat berjalan dengan baik dan normal, semua aplikasi atau layanan dapat memberikan fungsinya dengan benar.
